Southbound Holiday Cottages

The following terms and conditions apply to all our valued customers when booking a holiday with Southbound Holiday Cottages.

All our properties are approved and registered by Failte Ireland, the Irish Tourist Board, which means they must reach a degree of excellence. All our properties have been awarded the top 4 star accreditation awarded by the Irish Tourist Board. Which means they are of the highest luxury standard available.

Facilities in your property:
Fresh linen and towels are supplied in all of our properties and are included in the price. ??

Do you provide a welcome pack of fruit milk, tea, etc or can this be provided on request? If so how much does it cost?

Housekeeping:
A client relation’s manager will be on site at the reception office daily from 8am to 8pm. In addition our client relation’s manager is available to help you with any queries you might have and to facilitate the enjoyment of your holiday should you need it.

We are available all day to meet and greet you on arrival, and check you out on departure. Please let us know if you will be arriving late or if your plane or ferry has been delayed so that we can leave the heat on for you, arrange time to greet you, show you your property and give you your keys.

You will also find a folder in your property that contains useful hints and tips about how things work, local information on activities and amenities in your area.

Arrival and Check Out Times
Normal arrival time, especially in peak periods is after 16.00 hours on the date of arrival.

Normal Check out times is by 10 am on the day of departure.

Early arrival and late check out may be arranged in prior consultation with Southbound Holiday Cottages. We will do all we can to facilitate our guests in this respect.

House Cleaning
We do ask that you leave the property in a tidy condition the morning of your departure and rubbish should be removed to the bins and bottles should be taken to the local bottle bank. An additional cleaning charge may be levied where a property is left in an unacceptable condition (at the discretion of the supervisor). You will be asked for a security deposit on arrival at your cottage. This will be held against damage or breakage in the property and your electricity, gas or telephone charges will be deducted, with your consent. It is fully refundable on departure once the supervisor is satisfied that the property is in order. Minor breakages are not normally deducted as minor accidents will occasionally happen. We do stress that it is normal practice to ask for a deposit and does not insinuate that we expect our guests to do damage. In the majority of cases it is refunded in full, less utility charges.

Utility Charges:
There is an extra charge in all cases for gas central heating and electricity. We take a reading for both gas and electricity at the beginning of your stay and on your departure.

As an average guide to the cost of gas and electricity the approximate total cost for ‘gas and electricity’ for a week booking  in a 3 bed property is as follows:

€8 per day June/July/August
€10 per day rest of the year.

Children are Welcome:
All of our holiday cottages are suitable for children. We supply travel cots, cot linen and high chairs on request. A babysitting service is available by arrangement with the supervisor. Dingle World of Leisure run a daily children's club, suitable for children aged 3 to 10 years. Activities include; play time in the Climbing Frame, Ball pool and Soft Play Area; Evening time Storytelling; Arts & Crafts and Film Club. So why not drop the kid's off for fun and games

Open Fires:
All of our properties have open fires. logs and firelighters etc. are available locally.

Refunds and cancellations
A non-refundable booking deposit of 30% per house booked is required to reserve accommodation. An email notification will be sent to customers straight away confirming payment of deposit and details of the Holiday.

The balancing payment for the holiday will automatically be deducted from the same credit card used to process the booking deposit 6 weeks prior to arrival unless the customer expressly notifies Southbound Holiday Cottages as to cancellation or alternative payment method.

For bookings made within 4 weeks of the date of arrival full payment of the holiday is required

A higher booking deposit may be required for groups reserving more than 2 houses.


Cancellations policy
Notice of CANCELLATIONS must be in writing. The following charges will then apply: Please note the booking deposit is non refundable.

Late Cancellations on all reservations
Where balance has been paid refunds apply as follows:

Up to 3 weeks before date of arrival 50% of balance paid excluding the booking deposit is refundable
Up to 2 weeks before date of arrival date 20% of balance paid excluding the booking deposit is refundable
Up to 1 week before the date of arrival 10% of the balance paid excluding the booking deposit is refundable

Termination of rental
Rental of the property may be terminated with no refund at the discretion of Southbound Holiday Cottages if clients/occupiers behave in a disruptive manner, cause a nuisance or disturbance, cause damage to the property or in any other circumstance which is deemed unreasonable by Southbound Holiday Cottages.
